What Plan?....
After months of planning, plotting, scheming and pencil chewing the combined navigational brains of the Team Laura have finally concluded that due to the unreliable and inconsistent times recorded during training runs detailed planing is futile.
Instead we have concentrated on checking stores, convenient bolt holes and writing sea shanties and poems to keep us entertained on the long voyage ................
" Wind and sail are all we need
And depth beneath our keel
Sailing over the bar tonight
Past shifting sands we steal
C5 and 6 and then mussel bank
slip quietly by in the night
Snowdon peak before the slack
Swellie rock is a fearsome sight
Cumbrian shores beckon us now
across the Irish Sea
Scafell Pike by sea and by bike
are we mad or is it just me
Five men in a boat heading off west
the Galloway coast on our lee
the Mull of Kintyre is pointing the way
Sound of Islay or Luing we shall see
Full steam ahead, well we would if we could
as Ben Nevis is looming ahead
once that is done and the trophies are won
we're of home to sleep for a week"
