It started with a dream......... and ended in Whitehaven! (for now)

Laura is a Sovreign 400 class yacht, built in Moberley, Cheshire by the little known inland boat building firm of 'Yachts in Cheshire'. Chief shipwright, Richard Stain, aided by co-owner Geof (the Prof) Tomlinson), embarked on the yard's one and only commision in 1999, with a 3 year .. ha ha... plan to complete the vessel. At that time, entering the 3 Peaks race was the least of his worries and a long way off the horizon. |
| Laura was finally launched in 2005 at Liverpool. After competing in the annual 2006 Three Peaks yacht race she is currently resting in Whitehaven Harbour, where she was forced to put into following gale force winds in the Irish Sea.......... |  |
